Melbourne developing Australia’s first VIP terminal at Tullamarine

AS IF arriving in a private jet wasn’t enough, now the super rich will get their own VIP terminal too.
Melbourne business tycoon and owner of Little Aviation, Paul Little, has bought Melbourne’s ailing John Holland site at Tullamarine for about $10 million with a vision for developing Australia’s first VIP airport.
With plans to spend another $10 million upgrading the space it will be the fancy check-in for high flyers including celebrities, rock bands and cashed-up travellers.
Little expects to take control at the end of this month with redevelopment to be finished by mid 2015.

The 20 hectare site is set to offer a range of executive jet and maintenance services for clients in a world-class facility.
“I think it’s fair to say that Australia doesn’t have a world-class jet base here,’’ Little told The Australian . “Having travelled to many jet bases around the world, they are of a very high quality and in many cases have direct impact on whether or not someone decides to travel to a certain location,” he said.
Little also has his eyes on the international market and believes this new terminal could include its own quarantine and customs operations for handling international travellers.
Currently, all international travellers in Melbourne are directed through the same public check points although there is a dedicated VIP room for selected passengers.
Lifestyles of the rich and the famous, eh.
